Who I Am...
Hi, I'm Lisa. Throughout my life, I have had a passion for nature and everything contained within it. From the tiniest insect to the largest animal, I love and respect them all. Snakes? Rats? No problem! I've had all kinds of animals in my life. I am very experienced with Dogs, Cats and Bunnies.
Animals are amazing. Much like humans, each animal in every species has it's own very unique personality. Every animal that I interact with is very different. I find this to be especially true with dogs. Some are shy and cautious while others a downright comical. And then there is everything in between. Each dog has to be treated and respected for the individual they are. Sometimes when I first meet a pup, it's love at first sight and then there are times when I know it will take a little time to gain their trust. Not much different from humans in that respect.
I have spent the last four years working at a dog training facility here in Hudson. While I have never worked as a trainer, I have gained some very valuable experience during my time there. While there, I got to interact with every dog that walked through the door. I bonded with so many of them and watched some grow from bouncy little puppies into their adulthood. I have gained some very basic knowledge of animal behavior by asking questions listening and watching. While I am not a trainer, I do understand that every dog is different. There have been some that are so unaware of their size and strength and some who were petrified of so much as stepping out of their front door. The relationships I form with each of them is unique.
After leaving my job at the dog training facility, it seemed like a natural progression to continue to work with animals. I don't think anything else would have felt right. Whats better than doing what you absolutely love? Walks in the park, day trips and in some cases....helping them with their fears , administering medication and even checking on very ill animals. I get to form new friendships with pets and their people. What could be better than that?
I have lived right here in Hudson for the past 8 years. I live with both my rescued pups, an 11 year old Chug named Roxy and a 5 year old Chihuahua named Zoey. Chances are if you live in or visit Hudson, you have probably seen us inching our way down Warren Street.
My animals are an integral part of my family, so I fully understand and appreciate how invaluable it is to have a reliable, trustworthy, and conscientious pet sitter to care for your animals in your absence. Whether it's walking your dog , caring for your pets, boarding your dog overnight or simply for a few hours, I am deeply committed to ensuring your pets are safe, happy , loved and content while under my supervision. Happy dogs and happy clients are what it's all about.
